About freetaxhelp.com

We explain free tax programs in plain English so people can find help they qualify for, and know what to do when they do not.

freetaxhelp.com is a private site run by WellTracked LLC. Not the IRS or any government agency. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting for the IRS, the Treasury, any state, AARP, United Way or the Department of Defense. Program names belong to their owners and are used only to describe them.

How we check facts

  • Every income limit, date and program rule on this site comes from an official source (IRS.gov, state revenue departments, AARP, Military OneSource, United Way). Each page lists its sources.
  • Each fact has a date we checked it and a date to check it again. When a source changes, we update the page.
  • Year-bound facts are labeled with the tax year (for example, tax year 2025 returns filed in 2026).
  • We do not give individual tax advice, and this site has no tax calculators or chatbots. For advice about your situation, talk to a volunteer program or a qualified professional.

How we make money

The site is free to use. When someone who does not qualify for free help, or who has an IRS problem, asks for paid help, we pass the request to our partner Pack Tax, and we may receive a fee. That never changes what we say about free programs. See our partner disclosure.
